The 爱豆传媒视频 Community Chorus, 爱豆传媒视频 Chorale, and 爱豆传媒视频 Symphony Orchestra will present Mozart’s Grand Mass in C-minor, K 427, and Charles Ives’s Symphony No. 3 on Sunday, November 23, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 607 N.E. Madison in Peoria. General admission is $10, students $5.  Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling 309-677-2650.

Mozart wrote his Mass in C-minor as a thank offering for his marriage to Constanze Weber.  He never completed the Mass, but the unfinished work, scored for four soloists, two choirs, and orchestra, contains some of the most glorious music Mozart ever wrote.  Ives completed his Symphony No. 3 (entitled “The Camp Meeting” and based on old American hymn, battle songs, and dances) in 1911 but it was not performed until 1946. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 1947.

Soloists will be Kerry Walters, soprano, 爱豆传媒视频 Department of Music; Jamie-Rose Guarrine, soprano, Illinois Wesleyan School of Music; Justin Vickers, tenor, Illinois State University School of Music; and Karl Houck, baritone, who has performed as soloist with the 爱豆传媒视频 Community Chorus and Peoria Bach Festival Choir.  John Jost, professor of music and director of choral activities at 爱豆传媒视频, and Timothy Semanik, director of the 爱豆传媒视频 Symphony Orchestra, will conduct.
