A team of °®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ students received first place for their entrepreneurial idea at the recent Startup Weekend on campus. At the three-day event organized by Startup Peoria, the Turner Center for Entrepreneurship and the Turner School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, 32 °®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ students and others brainstormed and pitched ideas for new businesses. The winning team consisted of industrial engineering major Daniel Hart, health science and business management and administration major Haroon Zahid, mechanical engineering major Harsh Shah and food, nutrition and wellness major Kyle Williams. Their concept was Chef Genie, a website and smartphone app that links chefs to people interested in hiring a chef to come to their home and prepare a meal. Chefs would post profiles and market themselves through the website, with the business taking a 10 percent cut.
