The Department of English invites undergraduate and graduate students to enter two annual poetry competitions. The Sipple Poetry Award and the Academy of American Poets Prize have a submission deadline of 3 p.m. on March 9. Contest guidelines and entry forms are available online at .
The Sipple Poetry Award
This contest calls for each entrant to submit a group of five original poems. The winning five-poem entry receives $400; second place $200; third place $100.
The Academy of American Poets Prize
Administered by the Academy of American Poets in New York, this competition awards $100 to the single best original poem.
