°®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Helping to Prevent “Undermatching” in the College Admissions Process
°®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ is joining forces with an education company to help ease stress caused during the college application process.

Big decisions are challenging. This is especially true when you’re 18-years-old tasked with assessing whether college is feasible for you and if so, choosing which one to attend. To help ease the stress caused during this decision-making process, °®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ is joining forces with EAB, an education company, for their initiative Greenlight Match.
Greenlight Match aims to improve college access for underserved students. The program, set to launch this fall in Chicago, will allow high school students to build free online student profiles to be reviewed by multiple colleges/universities without any initial application. Students will receive competing offers of admission and financial aid from the various schools.
“Together, the companies (involved) seek to avoid undermatching — a trend where some Black, Hispanic, and other underserved students are not given the same opportunities as their peers to enroll at an institution that will enable them to achieve their aspirations,” stated the EAB press release.
Students participating in Greenlight Match will be given support throughout the process. Community-based organizations (CBOs) and school counselors will help each of them build their student profiles as well as assess any offers. Since their profiles will be set up before historic enrollment deadlines, they will have time to think and decide.
°®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ is one of nine participating institutions. Each of these colleges/universities will offer early admissions decisions and financial aid packages designed to increase equity.
“The Greenlight Match program is another opportunity for °®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ to recruit and enroll excellent, academically fit students from the greater Chicago area,” said Justin Ball, Vice President for Enrollment Management at °®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ. “We work hard to develop and sustain relationships with high school counselors and CBOs and to be a leader in helping students through the college search, admission and financial aid process. The program further enables us to strengthen those relationships and to recruit talented students to °®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ.”
