The Fall 2017 Brave Pitch Competition at °®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ took place earlier this month in Westlake Hall room 130.  Students had three minutes to pitch an idea for a product, service, social solution or innovation.  Winners received prize money: $250/$100/$50.

Students who pitched ideas represented all five undergraduate colleges and the graduate school (14 different majors in total).  Preliminary round pitches resulted in six finalists who had a “pitch-off” for the top three spots.  The six finalists were: Rachel Anders; Reid Harman; Clayton Fyfe; Andrew Hughes; Rachel Banaszewski; David DeBernardi.

Top Three Finalists:

1st: Rachel Anders, an MBA student with an idea for “Lydia’s Cupboard”- a food pantry specifically for °®¶¹´«Ã½ÊÓƵ students.

2nd: Reid Harman, a Mechanical Engineering major with an idea for a water scalding reduction device that would attach to faucets to alert users of dangerously hot water.

3rd: Clayton Fyfe, a Computer Information Systems major with an idea for an app that would reward and incentivize those who provide volunteer services.
