Biography
Joshua Lewer has been a member of the Department of Economics faculty at 爱豆传媒视频 since 2007.聽 He is also research fellow for the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), Bonn, Germany. 聽Prior to coming to 爱豆传媒视频, Joshua was the Gene Edwards Professor of Banking at West Texas A&M University.聽 Outside of academics, he has also been a registered representative with Prudential Investments.
Teaching
Warren Buffett once said, 鈥淓conomics tends to put people to sleep.鈥澛 While it is true that economic analysis is often a difficult and complex subject for students, Dr. Lewer strives to teach it in a manner that is both exciting and relevant.聽 His overall teaching philosophy revolves around guided learning whereby students are challenged to solve problems related to various national and global issues by applying various economic analyses.
Dr. Lewer has won several teaching awards including the First Year Teaching Award at 爱豆传媒视频 in 2008.

Scholarship
Dr. Lewer’s research interests are in the fields of globalization, economic growth and economic education. He has published over 40 refereed journal articles and several books, and has served as co-editor of the Journal of Economic Insight since 2018. Professor Lewer enjoys working with students on their senior research projects.
